Anon, there is so much more to life than being comfortable and having material items. I can definitely relate with the parent thing, having parents that are there but don’t express their affection.
You say you are close to God, but have you truly experienced His love? It’s unlike anything this life can provide, no matter how extravagant and it truly changes those who experience it. God loves you SO much and often why we feel so unsatisfied in this life is because we’re overlooking the bigger picture. He wants you to live your life entirely for Him. (:
