Anonymous asked: why do you believe what you believe?
ah, i’m so glad you asked this question; because what is the point if we have no reason for our beliefs? Now, while I was raised in a Christian home to believe in God, I came to a point in my sophomore year of high school to either make my faith my own, or find something else to believe in. I was sick of believing other’s opinions without question. So I started with the Bible.
In this glorious book, I found truth. I found reason behind our motivations to do the right thing (because it’s clear that humans have a line between right and wrong, how did that line get established?), I found answers to questions I hadn’t even asked yet, and more importantly, I found love. I found hope. I found God. I’ve seen and heard too many amazing things to not believe.
People will argue to the end of time about the evidence/proof of God, but ultimately it’s about faith.
In Christ, I’ve experienced happiness and joy that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Once you take hold of your faith and trust that He will provide, He will truly blow you away. I’ve found lasting friendships and an assurance that there’s more to this life than just trying to get through it.
His love is something that completely takes my breath away and satisfies me beyond anything I’ve sought out before. Nothing compares.
I believe because it’s saved my life.
I could probably write a book on why I believe what I believe, so I’ll stop there. I hope that helped, anon.(:
